Biography

Jasmina Trumbetas was born in Belgrade. She began her vocal studies with Professor Predrag Androvic and 1994. she graduated at the Belgrade Conservatory and word-know soprano Professor Radmila Bakocevic with whom she also obtained the post-graduate M.A. degree in Solo singing in 1996.In addition she received a degree in Slavic languages an literature at the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Philology.In 1994 Jasmina won the Annual award of the Conservatorium in Belgrade and firmly placed herself as the finalist of the International Singing Contest in Belgrade (1993)winning the special prize for the best interpretation.

Her obvious talent ,awardsand achievement resulted in admition to the Opera company of the National Theatre in Belgrade,where her career as a singer and performer flourished in the roles of Susanna(Le nozze di Figaro),Mimi (La Boheme),Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte),Micaela (Carmen),Tatiana( Eugene Onegin), Leonora ( Il Trovatore).

In 2000 she won 2nd prize at the International Competition in Maiolati, Italy( the first one was not awarded).Next year , 2001 Jasmina sing first time role Leonora with Zeljko Lucic as Luna in Il Trovatore and one year after she become Principal Artist of the Belgrade Opera.

This same year 2002 was awarded as Singer-of-the-year for the role of Marguerite(Faust).

Jasmina made her international debut in Norvay 2001.She performed also in Greece, Italy(Bethoven’s 9th Simphony with Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma) and Hungary (Tatiana in Eugen Onegin at the Bela Bartok Festival,from the audience, Eva Marton described Jasminas art as ‘crest jewel of the performance’)In 2006 she had a great success in Paris ( Concert at Palais des Invalides).After her debut as Aida in Belgrade in January 2008, she sang this role in summer 2008 at the Festival Gars am Kamp near Vienna , with great success and thrilling reviews. Her role of Tatiana was impressive and followed by exellent critics in Italy where was the guest(Ravenna, Rovigo, Vicenza).

In june 2009 .Jasmina had a role of Leonora(Verdi’s La Forza del destino ) by the first time and got famous critics too. The National Opera Belgrade pronounced her for opera Singer of the year.In 2010/11 Jasmina sang this role in two new productions of Opera ina Macedonia(Skopje), and Slovenia(Maribor)
In Novembre 2009.(The National Theatre day) Jasmina had the role of Hasanaginica of Serbian composer Mr. Kambaskovic.

Besides her singing in opera,she used to sing in concert halls all over Serbia and abroud( Italy, Germany,Greece, France,GB, Portugal,Austria,Russia,Romania, Denmark,Israel….)and colaborated with many conductors (R.Silva, P.Dvorsky ,A.Mandeal, F.Rosa , J.Janku, I.Parik, J.Harnait, A.Giorgi, A.Gumar,G.Fratta,S.Robertson,M.Boemi,P.Leonard.G.Stanciu,I.Toplak,M.Jagust,D.Savic.B.Sudjic,A.Markovic…

In Novembre 2011 with great success she sang M. Butterfy in Seoul with opera production Petruzzelli from Bari directed by Daniele Abbado(B, Stetka) with Gianna Fratta and greate singers( F.Anile, P.Coni,P. Scivoletto,O.Polidoro..)
In 2013 Jasmina sang Aida in Viminacijum( with conductor Ivan Kozuharov and Francesco Anile, Elia Fabian),Iocassion of the Edict of Milan( 313-2013) and same year, The National Theather awarded her for this role.
In the same year in November Jasmina sang Aida in Romania with greate success.

In April 2014 Jasmina performed for the first time as Tosca.
